The name “Ashraya Bhavan” translates to “House of Shelter,” which perfectly encapsulates our mission. We are not just a shelter but a home, providing a nurturing environment where our residents are treated with dignity, respect, and love. We understand the unique challenges faced by the elderly and mentally challenged, and we have made it our purpose to create a safe haven where they can live out their lives in peace and comfort.
Our journey began in 2002 in Chalakkudy, Kerala, where we started with a small group of dedicated individuals who shared a common vision: to provide care and support to those in need. In 2003, we received approval from the Government of Kerala, which allowed us to expand our services and increase our impact. Recognizing the growing need for our services, we relocated to Nadathara, Thrissur, in 2005, where we continue to operate today. That same year, we opened a second branch in Mundoor, Anjoor, Thrissur, to specifically address the needs of mentally challenged elderly women.
Ashraya Bhavan is more than just a care facility; it is a community. Our family has grown to include 85 residents, each with their own story, background, and needs. Our dedicated team of 10 staff members, including geriatric care professionals, work tirelessly to ensure that each resident receives the personalized care they deserve. We believe that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, has the right to live with dignity and respect.

Our facilities are designed to cater to the specific needs of our residents, providing not only physical care but also emotional and psychological support.
